Trying to find a particular Vintage Massey Ferguson

Hi there. This is a long shot but does anyone know where I would even begin to locate a particular vintage Massey ferguson.

I have the registration number & I know it was last purchased in Aug 2007 & taxed in April 2008 as a vintage vehicle.

As a child in Donegal my dad & his dad worked with it & I am trying to locate it for sentimental values for him. Even some pictures of it would make his day.

Anyone know where I would even start my search?

    Thanks a lot

    Rachel

Contact local vintage clubs would be your best bet. You won't get the owners details from Shannon or the Gardai. Local knowledge might be most useful. Many of those tractors didn't stray too far from the original owners, but it could be anywhere in the northwest.

Thanks for that info. I have contacted a few vintage groups in the Donegal area. Fingers crossed I'll find something.

Well what model is it and what is the reg?

Also if you know a friendly Garda they might look it up for you so at least you will know who is the registered owner. Although they aren't supposed to do that of course :pac:

Guards more reluctant to do this nowadays, since every-time they log on to the system, it leaves a footprint. But he might do it.

Also consider putting an ad. in the Vintage section of Done Deal's farming section, and perhaps a few ad's in the "Dealer" North West edition, and also the edition covering Sligo, Leitrim, etc. These are free, just a phone call.

Next Spring, you could attend a few of the bigger tractor shows and hand out a few flyers.

Just because it's taxed vintage doesn't mean you will find it on the vintage scene. It may just be used for farm use and taxed for the occasional run on the road

BTW the main farming forum is much busier, you may have better luck over there
