You say you have no information but you have your date of birth. That's good for a start.
Have you read the Trace Guide?

Thanks for ur advice... I think the hardest part will be too tell my adoptive parents that I am going looking even though they have often asked me if I'd like to...nearly feel like I'm cheating on themðŸ˜Ÿ
