No. Wouldn't even give it to a child.

Horrible battery. horrible screen. Low ram,low CPU.

it'd be a laggy mess. Wouldn't play any of the lastest games. You'd be throwing it in a drawer.

    Crap, crap, crap.

Usual rule of thumb is never buy any electronic items off these 'deal' sites - most of the time they are Chinese no-brand low-spec crap.

    Avoid.

Also, 4.3'' is far from a tablet sized device, unless you are handing it to a toddler.

Doesn't have great specs at all, nearly as bad as the one I posted a while back haha! :pac:

anyone know if this is any good? living and social deal Panda Android Tablet €35

    plus €9.99 delivery
    https://www.livingsocial.com/deals/1312358-4-3-children-s-panda-android-tablet

Aside from the fact that it's crap tho, why did you say it was €35 in your thread title? It's not €35! It's €47.74 inc. postage- it's not like the postage is optional. I'm not trying to be rude, I'm really not but in bargain alerts the price is the bottom line. No point misrepresenting it.

For a little bit more you can get a 7 inch quad core tablet running android 4.4 with 1gb of ram fulfilled by Amazon.co.uk (peace of mind regarding returns/faulty goods and no customs charges)

Works out at less than 80 euros delivered

Is the only real difference between the 9" for 50 and the one you link to on Amazon (7") 512mb v's 1GB of RAM?
(with the return policy on Amazon for the 7" also a big plus).

Would like to get a 9" or bigger tablet, for under €100 for the kids to mess around with

You can get 9 inch tablets for less than a hundred euro on amazon and they have got some good reviews although they'll have similar specs to the Aliexpress model. The main advantages with Amazon vs ali express is the lack of customs and vat liability as well as the faster delivery time and better customer service.

A 50 euro tablet could turn into a 70 euro tablet once VAT, customs and handling charges are added on

I would prefer 1gb ram to make life a little bit happier, but 512mb is still usable. If possible I'd go with android 4.4 because they did a lot of work to optimise performance on lower spec machines and you'll get more bang for your buck on KitKat

Double the price is not a little more. Why not go a little more on top of that and buy a nexus 7?

I just want a cheap for the kids to mess around with, nothing fancy like a Nexus. Don't want to be raging if/when it gets smashed!

Pity the Kindle Kids edition isnt released over here yet. Would have been a huge seller for christmas.

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_i741RNFrjg

What about the basic kids one. Its £79 sterling.

Cheapest small brand name tablet id say.

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B00KC6KMWI/ref=nav_shopall_k_hd6

Heres another that caught my attention. 10 inch for £69 and you could probably get a kids iPad rubber case that fits it. Could be a really smart buy. Always the battery that lets cheap tablets down but reviews says its fine and last for days on standby.

One bad thing i see about it is it doesnt charge by USB. Has its own type of charger. Might have to find a universal connection if your charger breaks so maybe leave it away from the kids so they dont bend it.

It's not double when you include the likelyhood that you'll have to pay customs and handling charges on the chinese imports. so a 40 euro tablet becomes about a 55 euro tablet

I only posted it for the information of anyone who might be in the market for a budget tablet. The price on Amazon is not much more expensive than ordering from China especially when Customs are factored in. You can get well reviewed 7" tablets with only 512mb of ram for under £50 if that is your budget

Expansys are selling 2012 Nexus 7 tablets for 85 euro delivered
Apparently they're grade A Refurbished direct from ASUS

The specs match anything you can buy new at this price, you'll get an update to Android 5.0 lollipop soon (if it's not already available) and you'll get a better screen, but the battery life might not be great given that it could be 2 years old and I'm not sure if Asus replace the battery.

    http://www.expansys.ie/google-nexus-7-2012-travel-cover-dark-grey-wi-fi-16gb-refurbished-266825/

I'm tempted by this myself actually.

Bargain. Perfect. Just grab a rubber case for the kids and your set.

Any difference with this one. Seems like a free case for the same price.

It seems to be available on Amazon?

If I was in the market for a tablet for my kids, it would be a tough call between this and the Nexus. You can compare both here.

Thats not the kids version though. Just the 6 inch tablet. Theres an actual kids version with parental controls and a really think rubber case. Also has a 2 year warranty that covers a lot more.

    American link here.

Id go for the Nexus for 80 with a case as you have access to the play store and a lot more free apps.

Any ideas if these might come back in stock. Went to order the next day after you posted it but they were all gone

    4.3" Display: 480 x 272 pixels ?

nearly better off giving them an old smartphone

None of the alternatives listed have ears, they are clearly premium ears which add to the value. I'm considering ordering one.

    They have ears.

I don't know, they were probably just getting rid of old stock

That said, after posting this, i saw some articles on Ars Technica where they reviewed the 2012 nexus 7 8gb with the lollipop update and they weren't too happy with it. Apparently the 2012 Nexus has been suffering pretty poor performance, slowdown, crashes and stuttering and has aged really badly (likely due to poor quality memory chips used during manufacture)

The 16gb and 32gb versions apparently are not so badly affected, but there are still negative reviews of it's long term performance all over the web.
