Old Rolling Stock in Non Rail Locations

I was having the car fixed today and at the garage an old CIE plywood van was being used as a tool shed.

I seem to recall an incredible find of a beautiful tram in a field up north about 8 years back.

Anyone else accidentally stumble upon old trains here and there?

A Craven and a MkII dumped outside the Kilashee Hotel in Naas, believe the intention was to use them as staff accomodation.

In the UK where they actually had (well, still have) sleeper services there's a vast number of old sleeper carriages parked up as sleeping quarters at companies.

E428 & co at Dunsandle, Co. Galway.

    That's - arguably - a rail location.

LOL. Stick her in run 8 and see how far she gets though!

Fair enough, its a former rail site.

There is a GNR signal cabin in Warrenstown near Dunshaughlin in Meath.
Its either Dromin jcn or Dunleer as far as I recal.

    Cabin is from Dunleer.

The Ruston and Park Royals at Clonakilty Model Railway, nowhere near the original station site. The 'display', if it can be called that, at Halfway is reasonably close to the viaduct.

There is/was a GNRI closed wagon near Delvin and a few more ex GN wagons scattered around Ballymore Eustace direction.

Close to the viaduct but quite a few dozen feet lower!

There is also a CIE short coach at the Riverstown Agricultural Museum in very good nick.

Belfast & Co.Down Railway carriage body near Newry - in 1987 - so probably long gone or in Downpatrick.

Two NG carriages - possibly Cork & Muskerry Railway - near Castle Freke, Clonakilty, probably scrapped long ago.

Near Youghal there's 2 or 3 Muskerry coaches, and they're there still....
