Does anyone know if an employer is legally obliged to provide wet gear for someone who is employed in a job that is outdoors?

    1. Can they take a deduction for that clothing if he provides it or does it depend on the employees contract.
2 if there is nothing in the contract regarding same can he still charge for, with the employees consent.
    thanks,
    D

Can't help with your question but as an aside you can claim a flat rate expense from Revenue http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/employee-expenses.html for certain positions for clothing that is needed.

I did it for years and they just added it to my tax credits; you don't need to provide proof of the expenditure or anything.
