Well just happened to me. First i got an email saying my password has been changed, then the next email said my email account has been changed.
Tried ringing sony 3 times, 20 minutes first time, then 40 minutes. Finally called back at 7 but saw the lines were closed.
I did get an auto reply saying they are very busy at the moment, has this happened to anyone else?

No. But if you have a credit card attached to your account I would be very worried.
Can you still login to any of the Sony portals? Sony Entertainment Network etc?

US day has just begun so even try contacting them I guess.

Did you contact them on social media?
    Might help.

You've been hacked.. Luckily there wasn't credit card details on your psn but what hackers are after is passwords. If your psn password is the same as any other of your accounts you better get changing them quick..

That was lucky. The amount of people who get fleeced by using the same password for everything is shocking. I suppose it goes without saying but did you change your psn password? Obvious I know but some folks wouldn't think of it..

They would want to hire a few more phone monkeys. Ten minutes on hold so far.

got it back after 25 minutes on hold, no problems in getting it back, no transactions had taken place, so all good. Oddly the "hacker" and I use the term loosely changed the user name details to the following
    First Name: Am0r
    Middle name: added
    Lastname: king

    Then i found this go

    http://psnprofiles.com/amor-king

    seems similar..
