cannonballs 400 years old

    Can anyone help me with these cannon balls i acquired , they are approx 400 years old, some still have the barnacles and some i have cleaned, they are 6" in diameter and approx 15kgs. im am new to this site and wont let me put up pictures yet,how can i show them to you?.

    Did they come from Ireland? If so how were they sold? Depending on how they were obtained you could be in conflict with the National Monuments Act.

    I pointed this out to you in case you were posting something which may be deemed illegal. The National Monuments Act may also cover items which have been inherited.

    It does matter a great deal, particularly if you have been diving and recovered these from know shipwrecks which is a highly illegal activity. You do know that the Gardai read boards too, right? And that if requested your IP address and any related information may be handed over by boards.ie to the investigating authorities? In any case, your posts are not welcome here. Please do not post in this forum again.
