2012 Avensis 2L - ran out of diesel - not start

hi I ran out of diesel this evening - was close to a filling station so rolled it to pump. Put in Diesel, but tried turning it a number of times but will not start. Do I need to do something in the engine to get it starting ? Thanks

Your air locked it will start with a tow,
not sure about 2012 models but older ones had a primer pump on top of fuel filter that you could pump by hand.

On older avensis it was on passengers side attached to fire wall.in engine bay

You need to bleed the system to get it running.

Another "advantage" of a diesel.
