Hi all I'm pretty new to all of this but basically I'm looking at getting a dreambox and have been trying to figure out which is best I've been talking to a guy who sells amiko box's and another who sells skybox f5's but I've also seen reference to dm800, so all and all I'm a bit confused to say the least.
Anybody here give me a heads up as to what box is best.

that is a very vague question!! how much do you want to spend? how much do you know about linux? what sats and channels do you want to receive? there are 2 types of dreamboxes , originals and clones, and a lot of models. orignals cost a fortune, clones very cheap but tricky to get started.

Say what you are trying to achieve but the most popular at the moment are VU+ solo2, duo2, uno, solo, solo se, duo, ultimo, these are all based on dreambox but cheaper, loads of posts on here about solo2 and duo2, and I bet others sill favour some other make.

To be honest I don't see the point in buying rubbish so I don't mind spending on the right box. I'm looking for something that would be comparable to sky package we currently have.
