Hey all. Built my PC yesterday and all seems fine so far. Only issue has been that after about an hour or so, the screen might quickly flash off, then on, the off, then back on and then it's fine. Any ideas as to what the issue could be?

Also, what are the best programs to monitor stuff like temperatures?

Have you the display connection pushed in all the way?

Could be a connection issue as mentioned above. Could also be some kind of GPU driver issue so make sure it's up to date. If it only happened once it could just have been an anomaly of some sort, perhaps it in and out of standby quickly if the keyboard or mouse had activity at the time.

GPUz is the handiest monitor for GPU temps. Hardware monitor will cover CPU + GPU and other temps. Male sure when installing not to install adware sh! t with it and just install Hardware Monitor.

What's the make and model of your PSU?

Should be but I'll double check tonight. It happened twice before I posted, but it didn't happen last night when I was using the PC so maybe it was just a blip. Should I have the HDMI plugged into the video card or the motherboard, or does it matter?

Plug it into the video card. Go to the video card website and make sure the latest drivers are installed

    This happened to me recently.

I think something is causing your "Desktop Window Manager" to quit on you. Go to event viewer, system, and look for red errors that mention the desktop manager.

One thing I know can cause this is the windows performance index running in the background.

Driver issues can also cause this.

Does the nice aero taskbar go light blue when the screen is flashing?
