Dishwasher - No Power.

I have a Whirlpool Dishwasher (5 years old) and it's not receiving power. The display wont turn on and the dishwasher wont start. *It's not the fuse in the plug.* Anybody have any ideas what it could be? Just thought I should ask in case it's a common problem I could fix myself.

First thing to check would be, is there power in the socket.
Then check for damage to the cable, after that you're going to be looking at the machine itself, are you competent in working on electrical equipment.
