I see Woodies is having a sale on Crown & Fleetwood paint. Which brand do you recomend or is there no difference?

Crown every time. Fleetwood is barely better than "own brand" paint

Have you had a bad experience with Fleetwood paint?

I've had a good experience with "Crown Solo One Coat"

Little to choose between them really.
Fleetwood premium soft sheen is as good as crown mid sheen or any other that price range.
I wouldn't recommend crown solo personally as it is always better to undercoat first. Imo

    Are you for real?!
Fleetwood is one of the top brand paints available and most people who know their stuff would choose it over Crown anytime!!!

I've used the woodies own brand. The magnolia and white paint are great for vase colours or if you just want something short term!
Topline own brand stuff is also good!

Professional painters use crown and Fleetwood so both are good. I think most professional painters prefer Fleetwood.

Colortrend is good but Fleetwood is still extremely popular with professional painters.

It really depends on the type of paint you are buying. Dulux/ Fleetwood/ Crown and Johnstone's are the Trade choice. If a customer was buying the materials then there may be a preference for Colortrend as trade rarely pay the extortionate prices for their paints when all other competitors have similar offerings in Eco/ Water or Acrylic finishes.

Own brand or retail quality paints ( ready made in the nice colourful cans) does not tend to be as good in terms of opacity, colour retention, application etc as the trade versions you would buy in a Decorating Centre.

Colortrend vs Johnstones is akin to Premiership vs Conference League. Simply worlds apart.

used Johnstones once. On a par with woodies own brand IMO. Colortrend - lost count. Coverage and finish is excellent. What about you?

Using a range of brands the last 15 years. I do agree that colortrend is an excellent brand but I also use a lot of Johnstones and Dulux. Most brands have various ranges i.e. value/ trade/ premium and unless you use a wide range of products from several manufacturers product portfolio it would be hard to make a reasonable comparison based on using one product

Every company uses the same ingredients in their paints. Some charge a lot more so they can spend millions on marketing.
