Has anyone who experience of online dating come across profiles of American soldiers overseas, mostly in Afghanistan. I see a lot on Badoo, and get a lot of friend requests on facebook too. Are any of these genuine? I know some of the fb profiles have been blocked as they are spam, but this doesn't happen on dating sites as far as I know.

They're pretty much all fake, made by men from a certain country specifically to scam women out of money. Their messages are a dead giveaway because they tend to be written in somewhat broken english

Yes I have come across those. I guess the conversation will eventually turn to money and then I will know.

Ok, I have sussed he is a fake but don't think he is after money, just a lonely heart who is probably married or for some other reason won't put up his own pictures. You really have to be on your guard!
