    I was just wondering when can a young lad get a training licence and could someone tell me the rules behide that :) thank u

    Points 4 and 5 cover training licence.
    Must be 14 to apply for one, and if under 18 must have written consent from parent/guardian.

    Over 16 to apply for a firearm certificate, with written consent from parent/guardian.

    Also the training certificate holder must only use the firearm under the supervision of person over 18. €40 for 3 years.

    Just to add to above -

    License may not be for 3 years, its for the duration of the existing license.

    If you have 15 months left on your license and a training license is issued on it, the training license will expire at the same time.

    While you will get your FCR pre populated form for renewal, this does not apply to the training license and this must be applied for again from scratch.
