Photographic Gallery Holiday in Europe

I'm currently weighing up whether to buy a new lens (badly needed) or go on a holiday (probably more badly needed.) Does anyone have any idea of what European cities are good for photography galleries? I imagine the major cities are all decent, but maybe one is particularly better than the others. London seems easy, and I know it has an interesting photography scene. Amsterdam is a fun and relaxed city. Barcelona has an image of a modern cultural city. So I'm left wondering what would be best.

If people could even link to good galleries in particular cities I'd appreciate it. I could look at their programmes and see if there's anything on I want to see on the particular weekend I'd be travelling.
