If for all values of x (3p-2t)x + r -4t^2 =0 r =9p^2 would be so grateful cannot work ot out at all :)

Can you post the whole question, verbatim? The way it's written there is confusing, I can't see what they're asking you to work out there. Is there missing punctuation?

You are the type of what the age is searching for, and what it is afraid it has found. I am so glad that you have never done anything, never carved a statue, or painted a picture, or produced anything outside of yourself! Life has been your art. You have set yourself to music. Your days are your sonnets.

Not surprising since the question as stated is complete nonsense.

I assume that the question is

"if for all values of x, (3p-2t)x+r-4t^2=0, show that r=9p^2"

    Let x=0; then (3p-2t)(0)+r-4t^2=0 and so r=4t^2.

Let x=1; then (3p-2t)(1)+r-4t^2=0, now using the fact that r=4t^2, then we have 3p-2t=0 and hence 3p=2t=sqrt(r) and so r=9p^2
