Why are RTE's on screen graphics poorly displayed?

I was watching the Ireland vs South Africa Guinness International match at the Aviva on RTE2 HD at home today and I had seen during the pre-match/post match interviews that RTE Sport have somewhat unveiled a new logo for it's department.

RTE Sport even have the new logo displayed on their website as well.

The problem is that the logo is not displayed everywhere on screen as it's old logo is still there on the DOG's and the main desk where Tom McGuirk, George Hook, Brent Pope and Conor O'Shea were sitting in the Aviva TV Studio.

Even when I was looking at Donal Lenihan and Clare McNamara just now commenting on the game at the Aviva, they were still using the old logo on both their jackets and microphone which is rather ridiculous especially when they are a national broadcaster they should be expected to make an effort to launch it properly even months before hand or even have the logo launched before this game starts in the stadium itself.

This is just another example of confusing and really poor brand awareness from RTE. RTE News and RTE2 are other examples of having brand awareness that still is poorly applied to it's portfolio of channels and their departments.

New logo looks like they are bringing RTÉ Sport inline with RTÉ News, it's a pity that they didn't try to rebrand NEWS NOW and consider RTÉ ONE's font.

RTE are terrible at consistency - at one point there were three RTE News logos (the one in the opening titles, the one on the website, and a third "RTE News and Current Affairs" logo). Ditto for RTE Sport at one stage. At least now, for the first time in what seems forever, the news and sport logos used on the website match those used on air. Well except for News Now which still hasn't been rebranded and uses the old RTE News look (and looks horrible as a result)

It's a pity the logo change wasn't accompanied by some new graphics - I think the present ones came in May 2007 (though IIRC the previous package, introduced in 2004, hung around into 2010 for some sports). Either way they're pretty long in the tooth now.

There is a new RTE News & Current Affairs logo when the news programmes from RTE come up on screen.

The new typeface used for that logo is now being used on nearly every part of RTE's website and probably every other programme in their portfolio.

I am guess arts, children's etc will all get a new font. The old one was ugly.
