No backlight from nexus 7 after repair

I cracked the screen on my nexus 7 a couple of months ago and only got around to replacing it last night. All went well left charging for a few hours and tried to turn it on. Nothing happened. I swiped my finger across the screen and could hear it unlocking, so the screen was fine but had no backlight. I had a look online and they said ribbon cable was the problem. I thought i was careful with it and it looks fine but I've checked everything else which looks good.

Question really is, is it the ribbon cable in the centre that powers the backlight?
    This one here.
