Need a tablet for couch surfing, odd game and netflix etc.. The Tab S looks ideal and would complement my Note 4. But reading reviews about it being laggy from time to time and Anandtech is critical of the Exynos chip they are still using, and it shows in the benchmarks. Still I would be interested in hearing from users on how good this tablet is, in real world use and how much potential it has to integrate with the note 4. Also, what are the alternatives ? Was considering a Nexus 9 but light bleed issues, inferior screen to Samsungs, not being able to expand storage, and smaller screen are putting me off. And I really don't want an Ipad.

I had an Ipad and got rid and got the tab. More so for watching films etc. The tab is excellent when it comes to that. However the lag is something terrible sometimes. 20 mins it took me from start to finish to turn it on and eventually start a torrent downloading. The wife gets annoyed using it for surfing sometimes again for the lag.

Is there any chance you could pop into a shop and test one out?
I'm not a fan of the Tab S myself but if you like Samsung screens and you're happy with touchwiz then you could probably over come lag issues by changing around the settings.
    If I already had a note 4 I'd get a Tab S.

Thanks for the advice. Must try one out in a shop.
Do you think the lag is down to touchwiz, unoptimized apps, or maybe the lack of cpu grunt. Probably all 3 I expect.

Certainly the note 4 has a little lag over touchwiz but it's no where near as bad as I was led to believe so I could probably live with touchwiz on a tablet.

If you are used to the speed of your Note 4 and the odd lag here and there, the Tab S should do you perfectly. That screen is gorgeous too.
