Throttle position sensor

I am having a problem with my throttle position sensor in my Suzuki Grand Vitara. when I stop at traffic lights, I have my foot on the brake and the other on the clutch and all of a sudden my revs will go up to as high a 4000 rpm, to bring the revs down I need to turn the car off. another problem is when I'm driving on the motorway and I would be traveling at a speed of 100km and I could take both feet off peddles and the speed of the car would remain the same. I have brought my car into two garages and had a diagnosis done and both place said they diagnostic equipment wasn't able to read the two issues that flagged with with my car.
is there anyone who has/had the same problem?

    Thanks

were either if those garages a suzuki main dealer? did they check for any vacuum pipes damages in the engine?
its a posability that as an intermittant fault its not saved any fault codes.

no neither of the garages were a Suzuki main dealer, that was the next place I was going to go as having no joy in the other places and I'm waisting money. I didn't go to Suzuki first as I thought it was be very expensive. if it was a vacuum pipe damage is that expensive?
