Does anyone have any recommendations for an interior designer who could advise and possibly organise the decoration/furnishing of one room?

I have a large-ish north-facing bedroom which is frankly depressing me now, and I'd love to get it done up - but don't know where to start.

Obviously taste comes into it, and mine would have to coincide on some level with a designer's - but I don't even know where to start looking.

Any suggestions or recommendations?
