    Hi there,

Wondering if anyone can help with this.

You'll see in the attached picture my new IO Link for my Sky+ Redeye signal. The white cable on the right has a funny attachment on it which I need to connect the RF Out on the box.

Any suggestion on what sort of connection I need to use to link these up?

    Thanks in advance,
    TB

Was the white cable used with a previous Sky box, with RF output? Maybe there's an adapter still plugged into the old box?

Something like this. The connector on the end of your white cable will just push onto the threads.

That looks like one of the cheapo faux-F connectors that UPC are providing these days.

I thought at first that it was a threaded RF connector, but I don't see any internal threads in the fitting. I'm guessing that it's a cheap version of a PAL connector - the copper core is being used as the centre pole.

If I'm wrong, and it's a threaded RF connector, then you need something like this:

If I'm right, then a female-female connector such as this will do, but to be honest I'd be lopping off that connector entirely and replacing it with something better such as this:

Where did you buy that IO box?

It's a strange connector, it's an F connector without threads so you push it on instead of screwing it on. UPC have been providing them with their modems and STBs for a while now. Basically you'd use the F to Belling Lee connector (the first one) but you'd just push the connector on to it.

It's a Cabelcon 'Spring-Connect'. It pushes onto the threads of the female f-connector, as I said in the 1st reply here.

    See page 7 here: http://www.cabelcon.dk/download/CX3Folder_May2012.pdf

And it's not the only push-on/quick fit f-connector out there ...

Thanks all, manage to get it sorted over the weekend. No idea what the connection was in the end, but my neighbour happened to have one handy!

@12 Element - got the IO Box on Amazon
