I interviewed over 3 weeks ago for a position I was very interested in. Felt the interview went well (was in there for over an hour and the interviewer seemed very happy with samples of work that I brought in). I was advised at the end that they would be in touch the following week. Now it's almost 4 weeks later and I've heard nothing. Thinking about it I was a little underqualified/experienced but I didn't make a show of myself either  Is it normal to be left wondering like this ? I've been out of the loop for a while in terms of interviews but I would have thought it was simple manners to reply to any candidate who interviewed. Thanks for any advice/closure.

    Ring 'em. Always ring 'em.

And if you were unsuccessful, ask in what areas they felt you could have done better to improve your chances of success going forward. Fingers crossed for you.

Thanks for the advice and taking the time to reply. Did as you suggested and so glad I called as got very positive feedback which will be useful going forward. Apparently I was close and interviewed well but lost out to someone with more relevant experience.

It's an employers market at the moment. So many applicants. Those with the most experience and/ or qualifications will get hired. But we soldier on.

    Stay positive. :)

whether you got the job or not, its just plain bad manners that they didnt contact you (Even by email) to say no.

    Ring them to check.
It's possible they are still considering or that they got your mail wrong when they sent it.
If they said they would be in touch it's not too forward to ring and check when they didn't.
