Medical Card & Confirmation of Residence.

I just had a letter from the Health Service Executive asking to fill out a form confirming my residence - if form isn't returned it will result in suspension of medical card.

Has anyone had one of these letters? I can't find any information online and I'm just wondering why it was sent out now. I've never had one of these letters before, just the usual renewal form - and my medical card is valid for another few years- so don't see why they'd be asking to confirm my address - is this letter a new thing?

I don't have any problem with filling out the form or anything - just curious about it all!

I'm surprised that it didn't state on the letter you received that it is a periodic review, as a lot of medical/gp visit card clients are no longer resident in the state due to emigration etc.

Did the letter not state this?

Thanks for the link - I didn't find that in my search.

Yes, the letter stated such, but I was wondering if there was more to it as I sent in a renewal form last year, so presumed that my details were pretty much up to date. But I guess they are sending these letters out to many people.
