    Hello, I'm a chef.

There is a huge shortage of chefs in Dublin at the moment.

I applied for about 6 positions within the past month and I got called for an interview by all 6 and was offered a position by 3.

The hours are incredibly long and the pay is terrible. Commis chef you are looking at €9.50 per hour, demi chef €11 and chef de partie approx €12.

    Hope this helps OP.

Hi mate, I think is very well paid, I do not know how expensive is Dublin but at that wage I can end up earning 2000eur per month, after tax is 1700, isn't it?

So if I rent a room of 500eur, leaves me with 1200 for expenses, cannot go wrong.

    Thank you.

I assume you are referring to a chef de partie position in which case you will need to really impress to find a job as a chef de partie.

I would imagine you would be left with approx €1700 after tax yes.

Bare in mind transport in Dublin is very expensive so if you are traveling into the city centre on a daily basis expect to spend approx €40 on transport per week.

I am a bit confused, if there is a huge shortage as you stated before should not be a problem to get a job.
I have plenty of experience, having worked in Australia, Spain and UK, so will see what happen, thanks anyway.
