    Hi there

Please note i am not looking for medical advise, i have already sough that and was prescribed anti-inflammatories but obviously taking anti-inflammatories ever time i train for a Marathon is not realistic.

I am looking for experiences of post exercise related headaches.
I suffer these after i have a heavy work out of running or football.
I have noticed over the years that they are particularly bad if the temperature is high.

I have not investigated hydrating, dietary adjustments or sodium/electrolyte monitoring before or during the exercise and i am now thinking this could be an option.

Can anyone advise on any experience they may have and how they resolved it ?

    Thank you

I get the headaches when I train hard in the hills (sometimes inadvertently) and/or when I don't drink enough water during and/or after the session. I found that if I drink 500-750ml of water with an electrolyte tablet after the workout I get far fewer headaches and those that I get are far less severe. That and a nice healthy meal of course...

    Thanks Indigo

I was hoping for some feedback like this. How do you monitor your Fluid / Salt intake need ?

I don't... I just try to eat healthy and drink water when I'm thirsty. I usually crave salty stuff after a run, so I put a little more salt on my plate, or I eat a bit of mature cheese, feta or a handful of olives.
