Samsung has begun work on the Galaxy S6, and it could be radically different.
'Project Zero' hints at an all new direction for Samsung.

Samsung has begun work on its next flagship smartphone, the Samsung Galaxy S6. With 2014 almost over and all of this year's flagship Samsung handsets released, it was inevitable that the Korean company would waste no time working on the next generation of its Galaxy S line.
What is particularly interesting is that sources contacted SamMobile with information that the Galaxy S6's codename is the rather exciting sounding "Project Zero".
The Project Zero moniker is a break from previous project naming conventions, which used letters for codenames when refering to flagship devices. The Samsung Galaxy S4 started life as Project J, and the Galaxy Note 4 was known as Project T.

Unless this is Project Zero-TouchZizzzzz, then so what if they put a nicer body on it than the S5? Last week I played with display models of the Note 4, the Alpha, and some of the recent upmarket Sammy tabs, and the UI on each had the same heartbreaking lag and stutter that drove me bonkers with my old S3.

This can only be good news, hopefully they'll dump touch wizz, get rid of the physical button and produce a well constructed phone, hopefully.

    Dump TouchWiz, use a HTC-like design/frame and I'm in! :)

I don't mind the physical buttons as they allow more screen space but the sooner they do something about touchwiz the bigger.

Even if they gave the UI a look closer to vanilla android it would be good. Some of the built in apps and menus look childish and are harder to use than they need to be - the icons for the settings menu is infuriating (I know it can be changed but the grouping can't). And less lag would be welcome.

Dump the OS and half the price and they still cant compete with the wave of Phones that are coming.

Remember Xiaomi is entering Europe soon and the OnePlusTwo is on its way.

Hooray! The Galaxy series has been stale since the S2. About time...I gave up after ghe S4 and went back to iPhone. If they make something with the build quality of an iPhone and non laggy displays then Im back in. I'm amazed they haven't done it before now. They need to rebuild from the ground up because you can give them all the latest chips in the world but they lag so horribly.
