Scalp/Pogio frost risk?

There's a chance I may get out for a spin on Sunday, depending on if another baby arrives before then. So I'll be on my own and not going very far. My most typical route would be Enniskerry via stepaside and onwards but the weather forecast is for 4 degrees on Sunday morning with clear nights beforehand.

Am I right in thinking that if it does turn out like that on Sunday that that would be a dodgy route? I'm particularly thinking of the curving wooded descent just before Enniskerry and then the Poggio after Enniskerry.

I hate the coast road but I guess I won't have a choice if the weather conditions are really like that, right?

What time are u heading out at? If your worried about frost, just leave it until say 10am to go out. Any frost will be gone by then.

I was thinking more like 8:30 or 9am but that's a good point about heading out later. It just awkward scheduling wise with kids.

I've never had any problems there, road from Glencree to Enniskerry can be bad for black ice and that was still there well after 10 when I came across it (wasn't fun).

did that route reg last winter and id be more worried about wet fallen leaves/mulch on the ground. mates of mine had awful trouble on the road with frost/ice from kilmacanogue to roundwood, old long hill etc if you're venturing that far
