Looking for advice on a Gaming Build

Hello good people of Boards,

I'm putting together my first build and it'll be exclusively for gaming. My budget is max €1500 (+ peripherals) and I've put together the setup below (from hardwareversand. de). Any thoughts/suggestions?

Opinions welcome! In particular, I have no idea where to start when in comes to a case and I haven't physical built a machine before so are any of the parts had to work with?

All great quality parts at a glance but I believe value is where you may be falling down. What I mean by that is
Do you need that much ram?
Do you need that"good" a PSU?
Do you need an i7 (as apposed to an i5)?
Do you need that mobo?
Do you need that CPU cooler when a fan could have similar performance?

I think the answer to most of these questions is probably no.
That being said, if you have the cash, why not.
This is just a few thoughts that I think others might say when looking at it.
You could possibly buy other things with any savings made.

I should also ask what screen/resolution will you be playing on?
Questions like these are why people ask you to fill out the form first.

Apart from the SSD, which I'd suggest you get the:

I feel I should tell you though that you should just go for an i5 4690k if you're solely going for gaming. You wont have to worry about hyper-threading etc. Some games use it yes but you wont notice it that much, especially for the price increase.

The graphics card too: 318,90 € from Hardwareversand? Coming up at 338,90 for me.

Also, I'd go for the gaming g1, clocked higher (not by much though) and includes a backplate (This does not aid in doing anything other than protect the pcb and aid in it being less prone to warping/bending and anyone that says it aids with cooling is pulling your leg. However, remember: THIS CARD IS HUGE, so expect a lot of bending/warping if you go for the one without the backplate) and looks a lot sexier.

In regards to the case, are you looking for a case that looks very... Prim and proper (which looks epic in it's own regard) or a case like this:

Remember: You're going to see this thing for a long time, so you might as well like the look of it lol. Unless it's going to be under a desk hidden. :P

Okay, I've done up another build that's cheaper and should be okay for your needs. Keep in mind, you'll have to remove the corresponding hard-drive trays to fit the gigabyte gtx 970 (which is extremely easy. - Just open the back of the case and loosen the tray and take it out)

Thanks for the advice - very much appreciated.

To be honest, I just went around online and picked what I thought was best for my price range, rather than thinking about what I actually need. Between ye, I think I've rationalised it a bit more!!
