Battery drain on WiFi

    Hi all,

Just got my first tablet (surface 2) and happy with it so far apart from the battery. It drains over 20% in an hour on Wi-Fi at the moment (I've had it a week). Since battery was the main selling point for me I'm a bit disappointed.

Is this typical of a tablet on Wi-Fi? I've disabled background app notifications, screen is at 40% brightness, and I usually have the type cover attached with the key backlight on low. For the hour I usually browse, type, maybe Skype for a few minutes. Just wanted to ask as I've not owned a tablet before.
