    Can someone tell me if the train station has a manned ticket office, elderly person travelling alone tomorrow and not used to buying tickets from machine, Thanks

    There is a manned office on the Naas side of the station, however, the opening hours are limited. If I recall correctly, it closes approximately 2pm

    on trains I think you still need to get a ticket (free obviously) issued to you

    in order to get in and out of barriers etc

    No - there is a train departing at 13.49 :D
    Presumably for trains after that it is the ticket machine only.

    For FTP holders the barriers are open after 13.48 so they can just board the train. While the ticket office is open they go to it to get a ticket.
