I have received a non workrelated injury which has rendered me unfit for work. I am about to run out of employer paid sick leave and will be depending on social welfare sickness benefit from now on. I will be out of work for another six monthsat least, and will find the going very tough financially..... As I am only 2 years from state retirement age and as I am a member of my employers pension scheme, I am considering taking early retirement.
In that event, would social welfare allow me continue to claim sickness benefit until such time as i was deemed fit for work. I would then have to seek JSB.
