    Hi

    have a 2 * 2gb ddr3 pc310600 in my pc at the minute
It did the trick because I was only running 32bit.

Now I've changed to 64 bit and will upgrade my gpu shortly too (all with running an i7)

but am I better off just getting 1 more stick of 4gb ram to add to the 2*2gb, instead of tossing the 2*2gb and buying 2*4gb.
    4 slots total.
    same thing ??

    Thx

    k

    Personally I would toss the 2 x 2, and get 2 x 4 or 2 x 8.

If you stick to two modules instead of three it should run dual channel, which in theory makes the ram faster. I'm not sure if there are any noticeable benefits though!

You need to make sure that you have the new ram in the correct slots to get the dual channel to work too, check your motherboard manual of google it!
