what questions should I ask gas boiler servicer before a callout

My chattofeaux and maury britony mx2 low pressure combination boiler switches itself (and orange indicator light) off after 5 minutes when heating the water. The error message is "fan on but does not activate the air pressure switch".

Any suggestions on what the problem may be so I can ask the gas servicer to have the replacement parts with them?

What qualifications should I look for in a gas boiler servicer? I was going to look for know RGII and experience in the same boiler. Are there any extra qualifications service people can have above that that would be beneficial?

I drained water and switched off the boiler as I was away for a few weeks. Should I ask gas servicer to check the voltage of the pump before switching it on? Will all gas servicers know how to do this? Is there anything else I should ask? Should I ask the gas servicer to bring any special equipment/replacement parts as I can't afford multiple visits?

    Thank you

Unfortunately RGII's don't really have gas qualifications other than the basic 12-18 day course which untill recently anyone and their mother could sit.

That doesn't mean there aren't any good RGIs out there(there's loads:D) it just means you have to do what your doing and put the effort in to finding a decent RGi.

Try asking your local heating merchants for a good repair RGI as merchants tend to know who's good.

Tell the RGI the boiler make, the fault code your getting and that you drained the boiler as that's usually enough for a good RGI.

The one question I always love to be asked is "would you prefer tea or coffee with your fry?"

Talk to www.precisionheating.ie:81/Site/Home they supplied the boilers and may know a good RGI who covers the area.
