Hi there I'm looking for some recommendations....

My aunt is just over a big operation and if like to treat her to a weekend away... I'm looking at lidl breaks and I was hoping to bring her to Galway but as we are going by train or else bus I need somewhere which would be located nearby like Central and the hotels for Galway all seem to be a 10 min drive so may be tricky to get to and can't afford taxis etc on a budget... So I'm wondering where else on lidl deals could we easily get to by let's say train and it would be pretty much in the city... The reason being my aunt is still recovering so I don't want any extra lugging around only to get on train and get directly there... Any help appreciated I really wanted Galway but hotels look too far away....

one option might be the RAHEEN WOODS HOTEL in Athenry, which is by the station.
Now, what you'd do in athenry is a question, but the train has you in Galway in no time so is an option.
Mayby theBlue haven in Kinsale? Bus stop very near and town is very compact.
The sligo city hotel is only 100m from the station.
HEADFORT ARMS HOTEL in Kells is at the bus-stop to/from Dublin.
Maldron (former tower) hotel in Derry is right near the bus station too.
Theres options, and it is a very good deal.

Theres a fair few in say athlone with would be doable, but they are a good 10 / 15 min walk.
I see your problem as I know other hotels about the country like say the sligo park, which are a fair walk from town/ public transport.

I might be missing something here but the train station in Galway is right on Eyres square. It couldnt be any more central.

If Lidl breaks aren't offering any hotels in the area, choose an alternative booking site, booking.com, expedia, hotels.com etc etc.

Skeffington Arms Hotel, Victoria Hotel, Foster court hotel, Eyre Sq hotel and Imperial Hotel are all less than 50 yards from the train station in Galway. I'm sure most of those are on the Lidl breaks deals. Thats just from the top of my head. There are probably 10-15 places to stay in Galway city that are less than 250 yards from the station.

Jury's is only a short walk down Shop Street, less than 5 mins.

Park house, Meyrick and Radisson are beside the station but they are a bit more expensive and probably not on the Lidl offer.

Raheen Woods in Athenry wold be a good walk from the station, out a country road, taxi would be needed for your companion IMO.

Thank you so much for this greatly appreciated I honestly don't mind where I take her as long as it's not hard to get too! I might even look at Kildare for lidl breaks
