Hello Folks - I'm hoping someone on here would be able to help with tracking down some spare pistons for a Ford County.

My girlfriend was home in Kerry this weekend and was asked by a neighbour could she look up some spare parts for him on the internet - I promptly got handed the job

What's needed is 2 pistons for a Ford County - I don't have the block number or the model type - either engine OR tractor, all I have is 2 photos which I think I have the number read off C7NN 6110F1. I think the tractor is mid-60's

However when I try googling the number it's not coming up with any link. It's possible I'm mis-reading the number of the photo (probable is more like it!)

Have any of you seen a piston like this before/ worked on county tractors and would know a source of spare parts?

I'm going to get her to find out the block number off the neighbour but that's all I have to work with so far!

:o This is the 2nd/3rd time I've met her family so I'd like to try and score a win here - I'll gladly pay beer for anyone who can help

Part number looks like a Ford number so a trip to your local New Holland dealer might show something. If you can get the Model number from the bonnet it would help, some County's used standard Ford engines like from a 5000.

Is it a D-series truck (6 cylinder engine?) Try silverfox tractor spares on ebay if you can't get them over here. I'm not an expert, I don't know if the pistons are the same in the truck (D-series) engines or not.

If it's not there, just ask them a question at the bottom of one of their ads. But you will need more info on the engine first.

Try Cliffords in Ballymacelligott if he hasn't them - he get them next day for you !

Cant understand why fellows are trying UK websites for parts - by the time carriage is paid there is much difference and by supporting a local garage at least you can get some help & advise.

Without local garages/shops/pubs or whatever where would we be.

Old saying now i suppose... but remember

    ..... Shop Local ........

Did you ever hear of the 'Paddy factor'? OK, there is supporting local business and then there is rip off Ireland. I'll give you an example; plough points in UK £6.00, same plough point here €50.00.
