    Hi,

I'm receiving a social welfare payment while I'm looking to set up as a freelance videographer/editor/photographer. In a previous meeting with a FAS officer before they shut, it was mentioned that there was a €500 fund available to be put towards paying for any courses, talks, workshops etc. that might help with up-skilling but weren't run by FAS themselves. Just wondering if anyone knows if the new body that replaced FAS has something similar, or if that fund has even fallen under someone's else's remit. There's an weekend of talks by designers and multi media makers in Limerick this weekend that would be great to see but the tickets are price prohibited for me at the moment, good value at €100 for the weekend if the content is good but something I can't budget for.

    Thanks

I presume its the TESG you are referring to. I don't think these talks will qualify as they are not accredited, it might still be worth enquiring though.

Have you spoken to the talk organisers, if the talks are not full, they might let you cone along free or heavily discounted?
