Bad smell in seats

Hi guys. I'm nearly at the end of a long running saga with a car I bought for the missus and need to get one more thing cleared up. The car I bought was a c model open corse. After a month or so of hassle free driving the poxy thing sprung a leak in the break servo panel. Carpets got soaked and water got up and into the back seat. I got the leak fixed and the car valeted and managed to get the carpet 95% dry. I have taken the back seat cushion out of the car to dry it properly in the house. That's dry now but the problem is it really stinks of standing water. It is quite strong even in the apartment so I'd imagine it'll be worse if I put it into the car. Can anyone recommend a product to take the smell out? Keep in mind that I have the cushion out of the car so have a bit more flexibility than if the seat was still in the car. Really want to get this sorted once and for all for the missus as this problem has been rumbling on for nearly three weeks now. Help would be much appreciated.

Maybe ask a mod to move to the detailing forum, the lads there will have lots of experience ideas. None myself though

While you have the seat out, go and buy a couple of boxes/bags of baking soda.
Sprinkle this liberally all over the seat cushion.
Leave for a day and vacuum off.
    If the smell persists repeat.

Donkey, products like Autosmart Bio Brisk will actually digest the bacteria that are giving off the odour.
Works best through an extraction machine though, so maybe you could ring around and find a valetor/detailer that uses it?
