Gosafe van + UK reg. What next?

On a recent trip home, I drove my UK reg car (Irish driving licence) passed a GoSafe Van. I may have been doing ~112 in a 100kph zone, but cannot be sure as I had already slowed before checking my speedometer.

    My questions are:
    1. Do they match UK cars to their DVLA registered keepers and will I get fine in the post at my UK address? If this arrives I will obviously pay it.
    2. What happens with the penalty points? I'm guessing they will presume I hold a UK licence, as they have no way of knowing otherwise?

    1. No - its not possible
    2. No points applicable - they have no access to dvla to establish owner/driver therefore they cant notify you of offence.

Is there no information exchange agreement in place yet?

DVLA sell access to their database for £2.50 per query (great business for the parking cowboys)... perhaps GoSafe chase UK/NI vehicles using the same method?

No. Jurisdiction and red tape would put an end to that carry on pretty quick. The only thing you would be liable for is if a Garda stopped you, on the side of the road, and you produced your Irish license. Automated systems like GoSafe are on the reg only so no tie to you i.e. You are the registered owner, but they have no way of finding out who you are because they will no bother to file with the DVLA or others, then the cost of pursuing it etc etc.

    Rest easy!
