    So,

I'm heading to Cologne and Acchen for a few days in December.

I'll only be in both cities for 2 days, and I'll be trying to fit in the Markets while there. But since I have such a short stay I want to be sure that I see the best both cities have to offer.
Anyone have any suggestions for things to see and do?

Also, any restaurants/food to recommend while there?

    Thanks! :)

Aachen is quite a nice city, it has a beautiful and very old cathedral thats a must see. The old town itelse is quite nice, has a Flemish feel to it.

From aachen, Maastricht is an hour bus away, with busses leaving every 15minutes through the day. Cost 8euro return, buy the ticket on the bus from the driver.
Its really really nice and well worth a visit.

    Hello

in Cologne the cathedral of course and there is so much to do around it.
restaurants cafe ´s bars, museums in walking distance

    the roman-german museum "Römisch-germanisches Museum"
    or
"früh am dom" where you can drink a typical "Kölsch" beer and have a lunch.
    or
the "musical dome cologne" is in walking distance.

all depends what you are looking for.

Sorry I cant post hyperlinks but if you google you will easily find their english websites

The Dom is in the centre of Koln.

You can climb to the top of the tower.

    Cologne:

This place is worth a visit for a drink just to see the puppet bands. http://www.papajoes.de/about-papa-joes/

The cathedral has a good view but just be prepared as the trek up the steps is hard going.

There's a Nazi museum as well, worth a visit. http://www.museenkoeln.de/ns-dokumentationszentrum/pages/315.aspx?s=315
