Faulty zip on dress

I purchased a dress from a designer website back in September for my cousin's wedding last Saturday. This may be an instance where being super organised is going to work against me.

Beautiful dress that fitted perfectly but only problem was when doing up the side "hidden" zip it struggled to go over a seam that it met halfway up. It did go up but a few mins later (just as we were about to leave for the church, might I add!!!) the zip split at the seam that it had struggled to go across.

Dress was bought on 21 September and was in a sale. I tried it on when it came and once it fitted I was happy. Have I any hope of getting an exchange or refund after so many weeks do ye think?
