Extending maternity leave

Just wondering if anyone can clarify this for me. My maternity leave will finish during the Christmas holidays. Will my pay resume during the holidays? Instead of taking unpaid leave I'm considering taking parental leave in two blocks to get me to the end of the Easter holidays. Would this mean I would be paid for mid term and the Easter break? Also would I need to return to school at any time before the Monday after the holidays? Thanks in advance!

No need to return to school to avail of parental leave. You'll get paid for midterm and easter, just make it clear to who ever does the online claims system that you're taking blocks from x date to y date.

Make sure you give BOM notice of your parental leave, not sure what's required, just to be sure.

I'm sure you've thought through your options, and I know parental leave is better financially than unpaid maternity leave, but just bear in mind that you might prefer to keep parental leave until later :)
