Part/full time work for a young unqualified Russian/Romanian speaker?

    Hey all,
    I'm considering what to do for work once I'm finished my leaving certificate. I intend to go for a degree, but I will need a source of income during this time. I'm looking to be able to do:

    A) Part-time and flexible work hours during the course
    B) Full-time work for breaks.

    I remember hearing that the Gardaí need interpreters when questioning etc. Interpretation work would be ideal as I'm a strong speaker but by no standards the Yeats of Russian/Romanian. Any suggestions for were to find work? Would translation companies provide work for unqualified youths? Any freelance work I can do.

    Cheers for any tips! Heck even non-translating job ideas would be nice, at the moment I can earn 9.50 an hour so anything above that.

    without a degree i think you will find it very difficult to get any work as an interpreter. Except maybe if you speak some obscure language.

    There are always call centres looking for people with language skills, do a bit of research there. FYI people do entries degrees in languages so I would think you're ahead of the pack with two under your belt.
