    Hey guys,

I own a property similar to this one and was considering a couple of alterations.

    1. Attic conversion.
    2. Putting a pitched roof on the flat dormer section over the front 2 bedrooms.

    Couple of questions :)

    1. Would converting an attic with a roof this shape pose any major issues? From outside, the attic space looks tiny but it's a lot bigger once you're actually inside (you can easily stand up in the middle). What worries me is that I don't think anyone else on the street has their attic converted (I can't see any velux windows).

    2. Again, nobody on the street has has the flat roof at the front altered.. I'm not sure why as I think it would be a big improvement (planning issues?). With the flat roof you can really hear the rain/birds walking around. Plus I was thinking you could include the new roofed section in the design of the room and have a mezzanine type feature if you get enough extra ceiling space..or maybe even use the extra space in the converted attic?

Any thoughts? Am I mental? :pac:
