    Hi all,

Just about to buy some components for my pc build I am just looking to see what you guys think? and if you see any pitfalls in what I am considering this will be my first build but my dad has some experience with new builds and I've done a fair amount of research.

I've just set up a new photographic business so this will be my main use for it running photoshop and lightroom and general office programs word, excel etc I'd like to be able to play some games but nothing mad, I'll be pairing it with an asus mx279h so here's the list

    Case: Corsair carbide 500R

    Processor: i7 4790k

Motherboard: asus z97 pro with WiFi

RAM:16gb corsair vengeance pro or kingston hyperx beast 1600hz.

    Graphics: asus gtx 760 2gb

Hard drives: 1x crucial 256gb ssd and 2x 1tb wd black.

    Power supply: corsair rm750w

Asus Blu Ray optical and generic internal card reader still undecided on windows 7 or 8.

Would love to hear what you think and any experience with the parts I have listed.

    Nice setup

Only thing I can say is, its a desktop, stick to Windows 7.

Personally I'd go with Windows 8 and install ClassicShell (free).
Plus, that'll get you the free update to Windows 10 next year. (which will be more like Windows 7 anyway)

    Components look solid.
Slight overkill with PSU, as I believe the GTX 760 only consumes about 170 watts max, CPU about 90 Watts.
A 550w PSU would be plenty adequate, but there's only about €15 between them in cost and perhaps for future expandability
the RM750 is a perfectly fine Gold standard PSU.

Some good thermal paste for the CPU is always a good idea, Arctic MX-4 is very good and non-conductive.

Have you thought about CPU cooler? The CoolerMaster Hyper 212 evo is a great cooler.
It's a monster size but it will fit in the 500R and is far superior, and quieter, than the default CPU one.
