Hi all, i bought something on amazon on 31st oct but i accidentally payed in British Pounds instead of euros. Now it says the order was put in for £215 but the money still hasn't come out of my account, it just says "Item Not Dispatched". Is this normal?? I usually pay in euros and the money comes out straight away so i'm wondering if i did something wrong. Do i need to make a visit to my bank maybe?

Amazon will tell you if they can't process payment. They only take money when they ship so it's just them being slow. It's still be picked and packed. They don't always work weekends depending on the warehouse. In saying that I ordered something yesterday evening and it was dispatched at 4am this morning but it was small.

Amazon can be a bit hit and miss in the regard. I nearly always pay in pounds rather than euros. To the best of my knowledge they only take payment once the item is dispatched and they seem slow to dispatch certain items (game consoles is one that springs to mind).

why would you want to pay in euros? your bank generally give a better rate than amazon do.

Well i'd normally only ever buy small items from them and i was never aware of this this TBH. I will in future though.

May not be worth paying in Sterling £ for small amounts as your bank may charge a conversion fee, I know PTSB do.
