If you're looking for advice on what to do, then go see a mechanic. Overheating can permanently damage your engine to the point where it'd need to be replaced or repaired at significant cost. Without knowing in advance how much it's going to cost, it's foolish not getting it looked at. Thermostats are cheap if that's all that's wrong. Even a water pump replacement is not going to be unmanageable.

Get it to a good mechanic with diagnostics, see what's involved and then make your decision.

    Moved.

Get it to a mechanic, who knows what cooling issues are there, it could be a coolant leak, (which are notoriously hard to spot at times....) or any number of issues. I wouldn't hold off getting it checked out, at best it could leave you stranded, at worst you could overheat your engine.
