Got a 07 galaxy recently and i noticed a knocking noise toward the front of the car. Seems to be mainly when you take the foot off the accelerator and is much more noticeable if have the foot off the gas and are on a bend to the left, its particularly noticeable in the right hand side then and seems to be in the wheel area. Its not apparent if breaking. it may be happening to a lesser extent under acceleration but not 100% sure. Any ideas what it could be?
Its had the clutch flywheel replaced by dealer before purchase and car is still under warranty (bit of a drive though)

Is it one clunk when you go on the power, another when you come off? Or one clunk when you turn left, another when you turn the wheel back? Or maybe one clunk when you go over a bump/hole?

My S-Max has a dodgy front shock at the moment which clunks, but otherwise does not affect anything.

no, its a series of "whump-whump-whump-whump-etc" is how i'd best describe it when it occurs.

Faster with road speed? Does it change/stop if you press the clutch?

    I'm thinking either a hub-bearing or a CV joint...

Wheel bearing is something that comes to mind.
Get it to a mechanic as soon as you can, you don't want a suspension type failure whilst driving.

    I'm sorry i can't help myself. . .

    Anti-lag? :)

In all fairness though it's sounding a lot like a cv joint.
A wheel bearing sounds like a constant whirr that increases in pitch with speed.

Drive car slowly full lock to right and left. A bad CV joint will give most noise at full lock.

yeah faster and louder with road speed and goes away when you press the clutch.
Tried the slow drive and wheel lock test but its not apparent at low speed. Its quite obvious at over 80km/hr and gets worse again if you are on a left hand turn at this speed.

I'm guessing this should be covered by the warranty i was given..?

How are your tires? Does the car pull to the left or right?
