Looking to buy a Toyota Yaris under 4k

You'll pay extra buying from a toyota main dealer. Simple as that.

The black one looks great to be fair, but I'd sooner buy an 04 privately for 3k

Worth noting that the Yaris didn't get standard ABS till mid 03. (The one you linked is early 03 so no ABS)

In a main dealer, you're buying the experience, the not shopping around looking at loads of cars, the peace of mind.
The garage will be making a profit of course, whether its an 01 or an 08" they need to make it worth their while.

That said, I'd be trying haggling €500 off anyway.

The Yaris is one of those cars that you can generally buy private with confidence.

Obviously you do the usual checks, have it looked over mechanically etc.

But in general the Yaris is a robust and reliable car. My sister has had 2 and neither has missed a beat. Not even that bad to drive and perfectly adequate for day to day driving imo.

Strong prices there from main dealers given the age of the both cars, the warranty would really want to be very comprehensive given it's factored into those asking prices.

Toyota dealer cover only covers cars up to 8 years, so it won't be franchise backed warranty.

I went for the Black Yaris 2001, drove very well, has just been serviced and has a full service history and just 1 previous owner.

    Only 67k miles.

Got it for €2,600 with a 3 month warranty.

Tyres are all good quality and spare is good also.

    Thanks for all the feedback

Yes looked at that one last Saturday, its a UK import and when I did the cartell history check from UK it came back with 3 Red light warning markers which I will not say online.

Put me off buying this one.

Yes, t2 is a uk spec alright.

Well wear with the 01 anyway, the CD player and alloys were optional extras,

Yes the t2 UK spec red 2003 looked good, but proves its always good to do a background check with cartell /motorcheck
On the black 2001 the CD player and the alloys did help alright.

The interior was immaculate also, previous owner was a lady who did not use it very much, she traded up.

Ya the best of luck Yaris make mental money.

Bought a Sept 2009 (cheap tax) from small dealer in Feb 2012 for €8000. Traded in to well known Toyota dealer in Dublin Feb 2014 for 2012 Yaris (new model). Was allowed €9500 on the trade in. Best deal I have ever done, a net gain of €500 and drove it for 2 years. Great little car to hold it value and I'm a VW fan.
