    Campy Zonda.

    Campy Zonda.

Very disappointed and very cross with my brand new Zonda's for leaving me stranded 30k from home today:mad:

Free hub seems to have bust in the rear. There was the odd click from it over the course of the previous 50k but then all of a sudden coming out of Naas I had no drive at all.

First time a wheel has ever let me down like that. First set of wheels I've bought online as well (swimcyclerun) so customer service and returns is the next can of worms.

    grrrr:mad:

You could get a set of mavic open pros on ultegra hubs for around the 400 euro mark , pretty bullet proof wheels

Keep us posted re Zondas, please, Fat Bloke. I was considering getting them and that's the first negative thing I've heard about them. Thanks

Will do yeah. Like yourself I'd heard nothing but rave reviews. The first negative I encountered was when I took my own ones out of the box, they just weren't as..... nice.... as I thought they'd be. Other than that, and up until today they did what wheels do, no more, no less. i put them on a pretty nice bike, on which they replaced much more expensive wheels and I suppose it's a compliment to them that the bike felt very much the same as before with the zonda's on.

I've contacted the vendor anyway where i bought them and we'll soon see what the craic is.

I've done many many a mile on campag hubs an never had an issue...
Sad to hear you've not been so lucky... Hope there's no messin and you get a replacement
Fwiw - demand a set- as getting individual wheels off campag is supposedly like finding the proverbial hens tooth...

Do make sure you're under 80KG if you go for Craig06's suggestion.

Wheelsmith have other offerings if you're a bit heavier than that and they've a good reputation.

    No.
Nice wheels I had the 3s and 5s. Almost impossible to get a tyre on or off, particularly continue tyres. Having had hassle with them at home, the revaluation came one Sunday morning on the South Kerry/west Cork border two winters back when I spent about 30 minutes removing a tyre to change a puncture (never had this with other wheels). Ditched them - simply too much hassle.

Pity they're so drab looking. 450 sterling - that's nearly 600 euro. Good and all as they may be they're sorely lacking in bling.

Swissside do some blingy wheels at what look like reasonable prices - http://www.swissside.com/shop

Bought mavic open pros with hope hubs last year for training purposes alone and ive done approx 8-10k on them and still in perfect order. Bullet proof wheels. I kinow people who have gotten top 10's in the Ras with these wheels. They dont look the best but they are the most practical solution
